It was quite a few years ago when I first met Trinelle. She called me to photograph her beautiful dane, Gracie. Trinelle had just rescued her, and they had become fast friends. Gracie was a little uncertain about strangers, and intruders on her lawn, but one thing she was certain of was Trinelle. They had a wonderful friendship, and so when Gracie passed away in the summer of 2010, there was a large empty space needing to be filled.

Enter Rocky. He’s big, he’s gorgeous, and he stole Trinelle’s heart immediately. She says that once Rocky arrived, she was able to stop crying over Gracie. Rocky and Trinelle are a beautiful pair. Rocky is shy, but not in a “scared” way. Rocky is a quiet, calm gentleman. I loved him from the moment I saw him! At first he wasn’t sure what to think of this whole “photo shoot” thing. But, by the end, he was posing like nobody’s business.

Here are just a few images….a small peek at a big, wonderful guy..and the girl who loves him!

Remember Sascha? She was the “face” a few weeks ago. Well, Sascha is not the only gorgeous Rottie in her family.

Say hello to Kodi. He’s a bit younger than Sascha, and extremely friendly and very glad to meet ya! During our session he wanted nothing more than to mow me over with his big face and lots of kisses.

Here are a couple of film images of Kodi and his fabulous expressions. These images show two things….one, how amazing b/w film is and why I will never stop shooting it, and, two, how adorable and very handsome Kodi is!!

Happy Friday Face!!

I was once told that it’s all about the tongue with me. (Donna, are you reading this??) I think I may have mentioned that a while ago. But, yeah, I do try to get “tongue” shots. With dogs, it’s pretty easy…I can “make” it happen. But, with cats? Now that’s a different story. You definitely cannot make a cat stick out their tongue. So, you must know that when this happened, I was quite happy.

This is Meow. He is grumpy. He hissed at me. But, one thing’s for sure, he loves his monkey. Give him his monkey and he acts just like a kitten, even though he’s 16 years old!!

So…..Happy Friday Tongue, err, FACE!!!

When deciding on this week’s face, I had a tough job. You see, Hooper has so many incredible faces it was hard to pick just one. Hooper is quite a character. He moves slowly and stubbornly but with unrivaled determination. One glance in your direction, and his face can definitely melt your heart.

Here is just one look at this very handsome guy.

Happy Friday Face!

I know I’m being a bit predictable here. If you happened to read my previous post entitled “Ian,” you may have had a suspicion as to who was going to be this week’s Friday Face. Yes, it’s Bracken, with yet another one of her awesome expressions. For this photo, I sat her in front of the cool green, peeling paint doors. I know she was wondering…”How long must I sit here?” She really is such a good girl. She wants to accommodate, and she does. Although, I think her expressions are a dead giveaway to what she really thinks about the whole process!

So….Happy Friday Bracken Face to you!!!

Seniors are so much fun to photograph. Especially when they are as laid back as Ian. His mother, my good friend, took us to a very cool location. She always knows just the right place for photos. Between the gorgeous light, fabulous location and very cool subject, all in all it was a great afternoon!

This next one features silly Bracken. She is Scottish Deerhound. I think Bracken has more expressions than any dog I have met. They are all pretty adorable/hysterical. She is quite a character…spunky too. She sat there with one silly look after another. Here is one of my favorite shots of the day. Just a guy and his dog.
