.friday face of the week.

Saturday, November 28th, 2009  |  friday face of the week

So. I’m late. I got so confused with the Thanksgiving holiday. I thought today was Friday. Honest, I did. I mean, who didn’t, really.

Anyway. Here is a very cool image, I think. Yes, you all know I love my Cane Corsos. And, the batman door, yep, very cool. Well, before we hit the batman door with Dorian, we hit the Italian Market with Diva. Aren’t those names even the coolest??? Seriously.

Happy Friday Saturday on a holiday Face!!

the beautiful women of stylekrafters

Saturday, November 28th, 2009  |  people portraits

Many years ago while doing a sitting with a client and her dog, I was admiring my client’s hair. I asked her where she got her hair done, and she told me….Skippack Stylekrafters. Hmm, I thought, I’ve seen that place while traveling through Skippack. So, I promptly called and made an appointment. I have been a client ever since.

The Stylekrafters business was started by the beautiful Karen Lovett and has evolved so much since then. Karen’s daughter, Lindsey, is now an integral part of the business, along with several other amazing and talented women. The atmosphere is fun, friendly and fresh. In fact, we at the Dodd household love it so much, we are all clients…my husband included!

About a year ago, they moved out of their original location into a new gorgeous and contempory building right in the heart of Skippack. Visiting Stylekrafters is simply a wonderful experience.

In honor of their growth, Stylekrafters will be rolling out a brand new website. Yesterday afternoon I headed down to do some photographs of each of the women for this new website. It was so much fun! I love, love, love photographing beautiful women!!!!! Even if there are no dogs by their side! ;-)

Presenting…the women of Stylekrafters.

Tucker? Please sit. That’s all I said. I swear. That’s it. With Tucker, that’s all you need, really. He is so very accomodating.

And as an added bonus, I’m posting one more. Tucker and his “sister”…the gorgeous, Becca. I found a cool texture and wanted to share this. I love this photo…so very much.

Becca, you’re gorgeous.

Happy Friday Faces!!

holy mosaics, batman, we’ve found your door!

Thursday, November 12th, 2009  |  canine

For the longest time, I have had a mission….a mission to find the batman door. I knew it was there, I’d seen it in a photo. But, I wasn’t quite sure if it was real. It could have been a fluke. Ya know, something that was there once and then gone. But, I held out hope. I dreamed of the day that I would stand in front of that door, camera in hand. The day that I would truly know that the batman door exists.

It had been a long planning process, almost a year. My subjects? The awesomely amazing Jen Molchan and three of her gorgeous Cane Corsos. Ron and Jen breed the most beautiful Cane Corsos I have ever seen, also the very first Cane Corsos I have ever seen! :-) I love their dogs.

So, into the city we drove. Ron was our chauffeur, thank goodness, as I am not good at driving in the city. I told him the address – where I thought we would find the door. We made our way through crowded streets and really tiny alleys. Ron has no fear, he just plows right through. Finally we came to a stop. Ron said, “ok, Susan, we are here, do you see a door?” I think by this time he thought I was insane. Suddenly, Jen said, “There it is!” We all looked to the right and there, like a mirage in the desert, was my batman door. I swear I heard the angels sing. It was everything I could have hoped for.

Ok, ok. Enough. I’m sorry. I just really love this door. I promise I will post more from this photo adventure, but for now I give you…..Jen, Dorian, and, the one, the only Batman door!!!

Is that not the coolest thing you have ever seen?

summer

Friday, November 6th, 2009  |  canine, people portraits

Long overdue. That’s what this post is, very long overdue! I met Summer and her family a couple of months back and spent a lovely evening with them. The weather was iffy, but what else is new with this crazy weather? But, it turned out to be a beautiful evening, all around.

When Wendy contacted me to do some photographs for her, she explained that there might be some challenges because two of my subjects would be in wheelchairs. For me, that was not a problem. And, it turned out to be one of my most favorite sessions. A more loving family could not be found.

Here’s Summer…she’s so fluffy and sweet!

Danny and Summer like to roll around!

Gorgeous Michele.

Wendy and Peter…so beautiful.

And, this…all I can say is WOW!!

Thank you Wendy for inviting me to spend and evening creating photographs with you and your wonderful family!
