The face of love. That’s what this says to me…the face of new puppy love! Anyone recognize these two cuties? It’s an oldie, but definitely a goodie.

Hope this Friday finds you warm and loved!

Happy Friday Face!

a slightly fresh look

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009  |  news

I have been toying around with change.  Yep, but only a little change and, hopefully, a good change.  I needed a new logo that would fit all of the things I do…pets, people, families, babies – everything.  It really was a tough challenge.  There were a few moments when I just felt like giving up! My wonderful friend, Nancy, has been helping me. She is so great at taking my ideas and making them real.

So, with the help of Kingston and Crystal, I present to you a fresh new logo.

Please…tell me what you think. Should I keep it? I welcome your opinions!

ringo and kati

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009  |  canine

Yesterday was a beautiful day.  Blue sky, bright sun and pretty mild as far as February temperatures go.  It was a perfect day for a session at my new favorite park!

I’ll tell ya, I am so lucky to have all of these wonderful clients!  Kati’s husband had purchased a surprise gift certificate for her as a Christmas present so that she could do photos with her other love…Ringo! How sweet is that?

We all really had so much fun.

As the sun began to set, the light grew more and more perfect! Kati was wonderful! She looked absolutely beautiful and was really excited to spend time with Ringo in front of my camera! Ringo…oh my gosh….what do I say? He is…a d o r a b l e! At first he wasn’t quite sure about me and my camera; but by the end he was totally into it!! He was running and posing, and seemed to really be having fun! Ringo reminds me of a little baby…his face, his curls…so adorable!!

So, here’s a first look.

He’s just humoring me here. ;-)

Are you kidding me??? Complete gorgeousness! My favorite!

I guess it’s no secret that I sure do love a nice Cane Corso! I think they are very cool dogs. And, I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again; they look like comic book dogs. Their big heads, sad eyes, wrinkled brows, ever changing expressions – just make me think…Hanna-Barbera!

Thus, I give you Basta! He’s extremely gentle, beautiful, regal, and just a little “comic book!”

Happy Friday Face!

big, big coop

Thursday, February 19th, 2009  |  canine

Cooper is a big dog.

And…like all mastiffs, he slobbers a little.

Sometimes, stuff gets caught up in Cooper’s slobber.

Cooper can even make lovely colorful bubbles with his slobber.

But, no one minds. Because, face it, Cooper is super cool.

And gorgeous.

And….his mom and dad love him a lot. :-D

This week’s face is sure to make you smile! It belongs to little Vivian. Her mom and dad are wonderful clients of mine who I photographed before she was even born with their beloved Remy.

Vivian is the sweetest little thing. Her cheeks are just to die for; and those eyelashes? ADORABLE!! :-)

Happy Friday Face!!

film in all of it’s beauty – and a funny tongue

Thursday, February 12th, 2009  |  canine

I still love black and white film.  I still shoot black and white film.  I’ll never stop shooting black and white film.  They will have to fight it out of my hands (and my camera) if it ever comes to that.  One of the things I love about film is that you never really quite know what you are going to get.  Well, you have an idea, but by the time the film comes back it is such a nice surprise to see what you did in fact get.  Sometimes an image will come back that makes me go “oh…my…gosh!”  Such was the case with this image.  I shot this with EXPIRED Kodak tmax 3200.  Yes, I said expired.  I think it was “really” expired, too.  So, I had some fun with it, knowing that I would get some unexpected results – which I may like, or I may not.  But, that is the beauty of it!

Years ago I attended a Clay Blackmore (love him) seminar where he said that he sometimes intentionally puts some of his film through the scanner at the airport to see what kind of crazy results he gets when shooting with it after it has been exposed to the xray radiation.  Since, I don’t really travel much, I settle for the next best thing – shooting with expired film!

So, before you throw your expired film in the trash, throw it in your camera and go have some fun!  You might just be pleasantly surprised with the results!

Thanks, Mackenzie for your tongue!

Saturday, February 7th, 2009  |  friday face of the week

This morning I met the – most – adorable – puppy!! His name is Kingston. He brought his “mom,” Crystal out to the park for a little snowy session! While processing the images, I came across this little gem. Since I didn’t get my Friday Face out yesterday, I thought I’d give a little sneak peek AND make it my Face for Friday.

I will definitely post more from Crystal and Kingston’s awesome session, but for now…

Happy Friday Face (on Saturday!!)

a sneak peek for sally

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009  |  canine

Sally has really good dogs. It was quite amazing, actually, how great they all were! We went to Valley Forge Park where there are just endless beautiful locations. I had photographed a wedding at the historic arch years ago, but had always wanted to photograph a dog or two there. Well, Sally brought me four to photograph!

Meet Dash, Bounce, Tinker and sweet little Bear. It was a beautiful evening with clear blue skies, and we couldn’t have had a more relaxing session. I really think Sally’s calm, easy going personality is reflected in her dogs. While we were there, there was a walking tour, bike groups and many people just wandering through. Yet, Dash, Bounce, Tinker and Bear all stayed completely focused on Sally. It was awesome.

Ok, here’s a little peak..
